Langtang Lirung Expedition is the highest altitude expedition package in the entire Langtang Himalayan Ranges. Located at an altitude of 7234 meters above sea level, the Langtang Lirung Peak offers one of the most adventurous, adrenaline-rushing, and worthy trails for climbers to ascend on. This expedition route sits comfortably on the north side of the Langtang Valley and the southwest side of Mt. Shishapangma (Tibet). During the Langtang Lirung expedition, the climbers can enjoy the best of nature, hills, valleys, and remote settlements.
Up until 1949, the Langtang region remained completely unknown to general trekkers and climbers. However, it was Bill Tilman whose expedition opened up a new trekking and expedition trail in the Himalayas. The Langtang Lirung Expedition is a 35-day long expedition to an altitude of 7234 meters above sea level. We start with a drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche and slowly and gradually ascend through several settlements including Langtang Village, and Kyanjin Gompa, before reaching the Langtang Lirung peak. We reach the Langtang Lirung Base Camp on the ninth day. After that, we ascend to the peak and descend back to the base camp from the tenth day to the 31st day. This means that it takes us 22 days to cover the Langtang Lirung Expedition from and to the base camp for the average climbers.
