Putha Hiunchuli Expedition

On the first day, the trekkers will land at the Tribhuwan International Airport (Kathmandu). The representatives from Snowview Trek will be waiting for you. As you land, they will pick you up and drive you to the hotel for overnight rest. You can store your bags here, and get freshened up, before going for a quick stroll in the nearby market areas.

In the evening, we invite you for a welcome dinner in the hotel itself where you will be welcomed with authentic Nepali cuisine. After that, you can also talk to us and discuss about the trial. Once we are done with that, you can head into your room and take a deep sleep before beginning the expedition journey the next day.

 

On the second day, our guides will take you on a short and quick tour of the Kathmandu Valley. You will get a chance to explore different significant spots of Kathmandu including the Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, and many more. Nevertheless, this is also a perfect chance to try out different local cuisines prepared by the Newari community in the valley.

As you finish the tour and return to the hotel, our professional guides inform and instruct you about the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition journey, its map, route, and everything you need to know. Besides, we also recommend the climbers get their equipment and gear checked before sleeping for the night.

 

It's finally time to begin the journey towards the Putha Peak. So, on the third day, the Snowview Trek team drives you from the hotel to the airport. From the airport, you will board the flight which takes us to Nepalgunj within a few minutes. Once you land there, our guides will take you to the hotel. Rest your bags in the hotel and you are free to explore the surroundings for the rest of the day.

We recommend the climbers interact with the locals and try out the local cuisines in Nepalgunj. Let us spill some beans here - Nepalgunj is famous for Biryani. So, don't forget to try this delicacy at all. By the evening, you can return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

 

If you thought it was finally time to walk on the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition map then you are right. However, there is a slight change in the plan; we will first fly from Nepalgunj to Jhupal before trekking from Jhupal to Dunai. Dunai is a beautiful settlement located at an altitude of 2140 meters above sea level.

Well, do you know that on the fourth day, we will first reach a higher altitude (2475 meters) and then descend to a lower altitude (2140 meters)? We recommend that trekkers go slow and steady right from the start of the trek because that will help a lot you to store energy for the higher altitude. Walking by the river, passing some settlements, and exploring the forests, we will finally reach Dunai. Also, do you know that Dunai is the administrative center of the Dolpo region?

You can go for a quick stroll around the village and interact with the locals before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. 

 

Today, we will have to walk for about 5 to 6 hours as we ascend from Dunai to Tarakot. Tarakot is a beautiful village located at an altitude of 2850 meters above sea level. For this ascend, we will follow a path that leads through a rough Dolpa route. Furthermore, the climbers will also walk inside a deep forest to cover this part of the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition journey.

It takes about 5 to 6 hours for any average trekker or climber to cover this section of the trail. After walking for a few hours on a rather foresty and rough trail, it gradually comes down to follow the Bheri and Barbung rivers. The same route, then, takes us into a massive valley with lush pine forests. As you cross this valley and go for a short hike, you will finally reach Tarakot. Here, we will spend the night camping but before that, remember to stroll around the village and interact with the locals.

 

Today, the trek is about to be comparatively easier as we will only ascend from 2850 meters to 2875 meters above sea level. However, due to the distance between these two villages, it will take us about 5 to 6 hours to walk. As you finish having breakfast in the camp, the guides will lead you through a wide path that gradually becomes narrow and rugged.

A few more hours to walk past some gorges and cedar forests before we find ourselves walking on the bank of the Tarap Chu River. This section of the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition also allows the climbers to visit the old Sandul Gomba. From this Gompa, we will reach a village named Khanigaun, where we rest for a while and continue on the trek. As you ascend on this section of the trail, mystical and magical snow-capped peaks keep their eyes on you.

Walking slowly and gradually, there comes a point where we need to cross a wooden bridge before reaching a downhill with many lodges. We are very close to reaching the final destination of the day. However, before reaching Musikhola, the climbers will stop in another village named Lesicap. Finally, after 5 to 6 hours of walking, the climbers will reach Musikhola where we stop for the night before ascending any further.

 

Another day calls for another adventurous walk in the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition route as we set off on a journey from Musikhola to Kakot. We will again have to walk for 5 to 6 hours on this day as we ascend to an altitude of 3250 meters above sea level. On this section of the expedition route, we can catch eye-soothing views of the Dhaulagiri mountain range, Kangmara Peak, and Putha Hiunchuli.

Talking about the trail we cross on this day, we begin the walk on a recently constructed path that leads to a gorge heading towards the wooden bridge across the northern side. With some more hours of gradual ascend, the trail gets narrower and you get a chance to walk on a snow-paved route.

This incredible descending staircase, built by the villagers using their engineering skills, will simplify your hike for the day. After several hours of continuing the exciting trip, you will ultimately reach Kakot. At the end of the day, you will have a substantial dinner and sound sleep.

 

A little higher to ascend on this day taking us to the altitude of 4440 meters above sea level. We leave Kakot early in the morning after having a delicious and fulfilling breakfast in the guesthouse. The place that we will reach today has an amazing name. Yes, it is called the German Base Camp.

This section of the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition route covers a steep trail, and we also have to ascend through two high-altitude passes over 4000 meters above sea level. We recommend that trekkers follow safety measures for altitude sickness. We will have to ascend for about 5 to 6 hours to cover this section of the trail. As you reach the German Base Camp, you can store your baggage in the hotel and enjoy a perfect overnight stay

Well, it's the day to reach the final base before actually walking to the summit of Putha Hiunchuli. We will start the walk after having breakfast at the hotel. Ascending to the Putha Hiunchuli would be comparatively technical and difficult. Due to that reason, the climbers need to be highly prepared. It will take about 6 to 7 hours for us to reach the Putha Hiunchuli Base Camp from the German Base Camp.

As you reach the base camp, our guides will set up camps for your stay. Besides, they will also prepare dinner. Until that time, we recommend the trekkers to explore the base camp. Moreover, you shall also check out the surroundings of the base camp and prepare for the peak climbing expedition.

 

After settling in the camp for the ninth day, we will start on the expedition route from the tenth day. From here, you will be guided by a different crew of Sherpa, who specialize in peak climbing. Slowly and gradually, we leap towards the peak of the Putha Hiunchuli mountain. Following the Sherpa guides, setting up multiple camps, using the technical climbing gear, and walking through thick layers of the snow-covered path, we will make our way to the altitude of 7246 meters above sea level.

The Putha Hiunchuli Expedition route is considered to be less technical. However, there are sections where the climbers need to be very clever and think technically as well. We recommend all the climbers to follow the instructions. As you reach the top of the Putha Hiunchuli peak, you can take a deep breath and witness the surrounding valleys. After spending some time at the top of the peak, we will set off on the returning walk. It will take another few days for us to reach the Putha Hiunchuli Base Camp which will be covered by resting on the same camps throughout the way.

On the 28th day, the climbers will finally descend to the base camp and rest for the day in the camp itself. Moreover, we will also take some time to clean the base camp and collect all the mess that we have done during our stay here. Overnight stay and dinner will be done in the Putha Hiunchuli Base Camp before descending any further.

 

Finally, we are on the descending journey from the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition journey. We will leave the Hiunchuli Base Camp early in the morning after breakfast and start walking towards the German Base Camp. Even though it is the same route we ascended on, it would not take much for us to reach the base camp. 

Within 5 to 6 hours of trekking through forests, waterfalls, rivers, and settlements, we will reach our destination. Take your time to stroll around the village for the rest of the time before returning to the guesthouse to sleep and have dinner.

 

On day 30, the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition journey takes us on another descending trail towards Kakot. We have already been to Kakot on the seventh day of this package. Due to that reason, this will not be a completely new place for us. 

It takes about 5 to 6 hours for us to reach Kakot. Once you reach Kakot, remember to stroll around the village and interact with the locals. After that, you can return to the hotel or guesthouse for a delicious dinner before your overnight stay.

 

On the 31st day, as you wake up and have a proper breakfast, we set up on a trail that descends to Dunai. From this section of the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition trail, the route becomes somehow easy and comfortable. Moreover, as this is a descending journey, the walk would also not be very difficult. Nevertheless, we recommend the trekkers to follow the instructions provided by the guides.

We will reach Dunai in about 5 to 6 hours and Snowview Trek will arrange dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable hotel.

 

Our 35-Day Putha Hiunchuli Expedition is all set to end as we are on Day 32. As you wake up and have dinner, our guides will make arrangements for you to begin the descending journey. It takes only about 2 to 3 hours for us to reach Juphal from Dunai.

 

Finally, it's the end of the walking part of the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition package as we will fly back to Nepalgunj on this day. However, we do not stop the journey there because, in Nepalgunj, a connecting flight awaits you. Within one hour of leaving Juphal, the climbers will land in Kathmandu.

You will meet our representatives waiting for you, who will then, drive you to the hotel.
